On October 27, 2023, Mr. Le Minh Nhut, LL.M. – a Counsel at Lawrel LLC Law Firm – participated in and delivered a presentation at the 9th International Conference for Young Researchers in Economics and Business (ICYREB 2023). This year’s conference, themed “Circular Economy and Sustainable Development,” garnered significant attention from academics and economic experts.
ICYREB is an annual scientific conference organized by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with many prestigious universities and academies across the country, including the Academy of Finance, VNU-HCM University of Economics and Law, VNU University of Economics and Business, Hue University of Economics, Da Nang University of Economics and Business, Foreign Trade University, National Economics University, Thuongmai University, and the Banking Academy. This year’s conference was notable for its scale, featuring over 60 speakers across three working sessions throughout the day.
Mr. Le Minh Nhut’s presentation at the conference was titled: “Policies to promote the development of green hydrogen: Experiences from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and lessons for Vietnam.” The presentation offered fresh, scientific perspectives on the crucial role of green hydrogen in the energy transition and in fulfilling the commitments made at COP26 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
According to Mr. Le Minh Nhut, with its vast potential in renewable energy, Vietnam has a significant opportunity to make a breakthrough in developing a green hydrogen industry. However, there are still many policy and legal gaps that prevent this potential from being effectively realized. The policy analyses and recommendations presented at the conference are expected to help Vietnam improve its legal framework, laying the groundwork for the strong development of green hydrogen energy in the future.
The active participation of young experts like Mr. Le Minh Nhut at ICYREB 2023 not only reflects a vibrant spirit of scientific research but also demonstrates the younger generation’s commitment to finding solutions for the major environmental and sustainable development challenges facing Vietnam.
