Article “An Investment in an Oversea Wind Power Project – NSEC’s Experiences for Vietnam” by Mr. Le Minh Nhut, LL.M.
On April 22, 2023, the article “An Investment in an Oversea Wind Power Project – NSEC’s Experiences for Vietnam,” co-authored by Mr. Le Minh Nhut, LL.M., a legal counsel at Lawrel Law Firm, was published by Springer Nature Singapore, one of the world’s leading and most reputable publishers.
Following its commitments at COP26, Vietnam is taking steps to realize its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. To achieve this ambitious target, promoting the development of renewable energy is essential. Vietnam possesses enormous potential for offshore wind power. Accordingly, offshore wind energy is considered to play a crucial role in achieving the energy transition and fulfilling Vietnam’s COP26 commitments.
However, in practice, Vietnam still lacks an effective policy framework for the development of offshore wind power. Recognizing this issue, Mr. Le Minh Nhut has been working tirelessly to research and propose new initiatives for Vietnam’s legal framework on offshore wind development. His article, “An Investment in an Oversea Wind Power Project – NSEC’s Experiences for Vietnam,” studies the regulations on offshore wind project investment of the North Seas Energy Cooperation (NSEC). From this analysis, the article provides recommendations for the investment process of offshore wind power projects in Vietnam.
