International Conference: “New Generation Nuclear Power – Technology Trends and Development Prospects”

Mr. Le Minh Nhut, LL.M. – a Lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, an Arbitrator at the Southern Trade Arbitration Centre (STAC), a legal expert for the National Assembly Delegation of Tay Ninh Province, and a legal counsel at Lawrel Law Firm – conducted a legal training session for PECC2 and presented at the international conference “New Generation Nuclear Power – Technology Trends and Development Prospects.”

The conference was held on May 18th at the GEM Center (08 Nguyen Binh Khiem, Da Kao Ward, District 1, HCMC). It was co-organized by Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2), Seaborg Technologies (Denmark), Siemens Energy AG (Federal Republic of Germany), and the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM).

New generation nuclear power offers advantages in cost, safety, and suitability for the green transition and environmental protection in Vietnam and worldwide. However, the investment and construction of nuclear power plant projects are subject to regulation not only by Vietnamese law but also by numerous international legal provisions.

Mr. Le Minh Nhut delivered a presentation and provided consultation on relevant international law regulations governing such projects, including UNCLOS 1982, SOLAS 74, CNS 1994, and CPPNM.
